WHO WE ARE
Heretic was born from a belief that natural materials carry their own kind of magic. Not fantasy, but a living energy, found in resin warmed by skin, roots pulled from soil, petals bruised and breathing. Our fragrances and scent objects are created to move gently through the mind, the body, and the spirit. They unfold with time, change with the wearer, and linger quietly. They’re meant to be discovered slowly, returned to often, and trusted to reveal their character in their own way. We allow materials to remain expressive and imperfect, embracing their shadows as well as their beauty. What we offer is not a polished idea of nature, but an invitation to live alongside it, to let fragrance become atmosphere, companion, and quiet spell woven into daily life.
WHAT WE DO
We call ourselves Heretic not to reject tradition, but to practice it differently. Our work begins with naturally-derived botanical materials and a willingness to let them remain expressive, complex, and alive. Rather than smoothing their edges, we allow plants to speak in their own voices: unpredictable, sensual, and full of character. Our fragrances are composed without gender or spectacle, blended in organic sugarcane alcohol, and crafted in small batches in our Los Angeles studio using time-honored perfumery practices. Each formula is vegan and cruelty-free by intention, shaped with patience and care. To be Heretic is to trust the quiet power of botanical materials, and to believe that fragrance, when made honestly, has the ability to deepen daily life rather than decorate it.
THE ORIGINAL HERETIC
Douglas Little is the Founder, Perfumer, creative force behind Heretic Parfum. His work is shaped by years of close, attentive practice with natural fragrance materials, learning how botanicals behave, how they change with time and skin, and how they shape atmosphere and feeling. Rather than imposing a fixed idea, Douglas approaches perfumery as a dialogue with materials, allowing each to retain its character, unpredictability, and presence. Through Heretic, Douglas invites others to experience scent as something intimate and transformative.
HOW TO WEAR NATURALS
Heretic fragrances lay light and sheer on the skin because we use natural ingredients and because we do not use the chemicals and additives used by standard perfumes to artificially extend wear. To increase staying power, we recommend re-applying our fragrance periodically throughout the day.
Layering: We also encourage you to layer two to three Heretic fragrances not only to increase the overall intensity but to help you create your next signature scent.
