Inspired by the fairy tale books of the 19th century, the Rhubarb Thief Discovery Set is presented in a collectible storybook format. Inside are eleven hand–tipped watercolor illustrations by artist Sam Wolf Connelly, telling the story of Monsieur Lapin and his rhubarb alchemy. FOURTEEN CARROTS: Fresh, Woody, Velvety. Fourteen Carrots begins in the earth, where sweetness grows in darkness. Carrot absolute is the heart of the fragrance, rooty and velvety, quietly sensual, carrying the smell of soil and sun at once. Plum slips in with a ripe, shadowed juiciness that makes the carrot glow. Oud settles underneath like warm resin, steady and grounding, turning the blend into a slow, intimate elixir. This is a perfume of buried gold and quiet revelation. 94% natural.

As the perfume settles, tonka bean slips in with its drowsy almond sweetness, benzoin spreads a balsamic glow, while labdanum gathers beneath like old amber in a reliquary. Rhubarb grows where spells are planted. At the edges of gardens, between order and wildness, it pushes its crimson stalks through dark soil like a secret kept by the earth. In old herbals and folk traditions, rhubarb was less ingredient than incantation, used to restore balance, move stagnant energies, and protect the body from unseen disturbances.
A rabbit perfumer of peculiar habits, Monsieur Lapin slips through fences and under moonlit hedges, stealing stalks and gathering leaves and roots. Not for hunger, but for obsession. Back in his burrow, among dusty bottles, glass vials, and curious instruments, he begins his alchemy, coaxing the wild, electric spirit of rhubarb into perfume.
What emerges is Rhubarb Thief and its fragrance collection. Bright. Bitter. Green. A little sweet. A little dangerous. Rhubarb Thief opens with tension and snap. Grapefruit pith delivers a bitter-bright jolt, tempered by the clean grain of cedar. Angelica, long regarded as a guardian plant and tonic, brings an herbal muskiness that feels both medicinal and spiritual. Thyme and verbena sharpen the edges, while carrot seed introduces a soft earthiness, rooted, warm, and quietly grounding. At the heart, the stalk is snapped. Rhubarb arrives vivid and mouthwatering. Green, tart, and vegetal, its brightness humming with energy rather than sweetness. Pink jasmine softens the sharpness with a translucent floral warmth, as the base settles into moss and resin.

Fourteen Carrots and Dirty Hinoki
Roots meet wood. Carrot’s cozy, plum-like earthiness folds seamlessly into hinoki’s clean forest air and resinous calm. The result is grounding and restorative, a scent that feels like breath slowing, feet touching soil, and the body settling back into itself.
Jasmine Smoke and Beekeeper

We use plant-based, natural ingredients, which means our scents are light and sheer. To increase staying power, you’ll want to apply the fragrance periodically throughout the day.

We also encourage you to layer two to three Heretic fragrances not only to increase the overall intensity but to help you create your next signature scent. Choose heavy and lighter blends to layer together, spraying or dabbing the stronger scent first.
